She is a Psychology and Pedagogics graduate from the Instituto Superior Pedagógico, and while studying there she was a member and lead Singer of Grupo Musical América, winning first place in numerous national festivals in 1980 and 1981.

Ivette Cepeda´s career as a musician has been on the rise, with sold out presentations in different venues in the island, along with her band ¨Reflexión ¨ and, as she says: ¨… I am a performer, and that is for me the most essential part of the world, my performance is always a bridge I build with the audience, they give me their all and I just return it…¨.
