Elio Revé y su Charangón

Founded in 1956 by maestro Elio Revé Matos, an important star in Cuban music, the band “Elio Revé y su Charangón” is, for many years now, one of the most prestigious music bands in Cuba and abroad. Its founder was a strong defender and disseminator of the best values of Cuban music, and his work with the typical rhythm changüi earned him the title “Father of Changüí”.

After his demise in 1997, his son Elio Revé Jr., a university major in music who was also trained by his father, and was already the pianist in the band and music arranger, takes over the challenge to carry on with Revé´s and takes over as band director. He has maintained its popularity, sound and the trademark that has characterized this band for so many years.
