Currently one of the best performers of Latin jazz in Cuba, César López began his life as a musician at 10 years of age.

César, known by critics as the Cuban Charlie Parker, decides to create his band “Habana Ensemble” in 1997 with other prestigious Cuban musicians.
Habana Ensemble follows a formula with new musical and esthetic elements, making them notably different from other Cuban bands. Having had Irakere as their “school”, these talented young musicians master their instruments and are virtuosos of Latin jazz. Habana Ensemble includes in their repertoire classic jazz and popular Cuban music (boleros, salsa, etc.) in fusion with a contemporary sound where improvisations play a decisive role and turns each of their performances into an authentic and unique work of art.
