Born in Camagüey, Cuba, Anais Abreu began her musical adventures at a very early age. She started her musical education at Joaquín Varona Provincial Art School, followed by Luis Casa Romero National Art School, where she stayed on as piano professor after graduation. She further studied at the National Center for Art Education and stayed on in this institution as professor and choir director. Though successful as professor and director, after winning first place on a TV contest, her love for performing led her to Havana, where she delight both Cuban and international audiences.

Anaís Abreu won Best Song in CUBADISCO 2004 with “Alma”. She has a large list of awards and accomplishments.  She has made appearances in the films “Tiburones en la Habana”, a French-Cuban production; in “Robo de Bicicleta”, an Italian-Cuban production; as well as two documentaries, one by Octavio Cortázar based on Pedro Junco´s music; and another based on a landscaper of Antillean poetry, Luis Carbonel. She also plays a cameo on the documentary Habana Blue.
